Heritage Style Bordeaux Blend
 
Blackcurrants  -  Black Plum  -  Black Olive 
 
A nerve racking, hard fought vintage fraught by an early bud burst, heavy rain until June pushing humidity high and then no rain until September when fortunately it came good just in time to create a high quality, concentrated vintage. 
This classic Bordeaux blend was destemmed before allowing full primary fermentation on the skins before racking ahead of malolactic fermentation. The wine was then transferred into barrels where it was racked twice more over the 18 month aging process in 30% new oak and 70% old oak barrels. 
 
The aromas of black fruits and an earthy characteristic present with the
integrated warm spicy wood. This full bodied wine has great fresh acidity backed by chewy tannins and a long finish of black fruits and olives.
 
It’s drinking very well now, but will easily age for another 10-15 years.
